Taits Legal is expanding its support for the local community by signing on as the major sponsor for WRAD’s Collecta-Bool. Taits Legal has taken on a significant financial investment in securing the naming rights sponsorship for the 2013 event which will be held at the Wannon Rooms on Easter Sunday, March 31.
Senior Associate David Benfell said Taits Legal was pleased to support a local organisation that makes such a positive impact on the community. “WRAD does a lot to educate the community about the importance of mental health and drug and alcohol issues and provides fantastic support and resources for people who are experiencing problems in that area,” Mr Benfell said.
Mr Benfell added that Collecta-Bool was a unique event worthy of support. “It is an event that gives collectors an opportunity to share their collections with the wider community,” he said. “It is a good to have this on the Easter calendar in Warrnambool.”
Taits Legal, which has offices in Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Terang and Mortlake, supports a variety of local events, community organisations and individuals.
Collecta-Bool organiser Rick Bayne said the naming rights sponsorship was essential for the event’s success. “Our Collecta-Bool in 2012 was by far our most successful with more than 700 people attending the one-day event to see nearly 50 different exhibits,” Mr Bayne said. “It has been a great event to raise funds and raise the profile of WRAD over the past five years and we hope to repeat that success this year. “Securing Taits Legal as naming rights sponsor will ensure the event succeeds in raising funds for for The Western Region Alcohol and Drug Centre (WRAD), he said.
WRAD Director Geoff Soma welcomed the sponsorship, describing it as a valuable partnership. “Unfortunately, law and drugs often walk hand-in-hand as some people are so desperate and chained to addiction that their life turns to crime,” Mr Soma said. “WRAD offers hope and a pathway to a more positive lifestyle and events like this contribute on a number of levels.”
Mr Bayne said putting the event together was a huge undertaking and he thanked all sponsors and exhibitors. Ace Radio, Gunner’s Office Equipment and South West Credit have also signed on gold sponsors for the event. There will be about 40 exhibits at the Wannon Rooms on Easter Sunday, March 31 and Mr Bayne said he was keen to hear from other people with collections they are willing to share.
