Support the Lookout Residential Rehab Centre

WRAD HEALTH will better meet clients’ needs by establishing a local residential rehabilitation centre.

This residential alcohol and other drug centre will be called ‘The lookout’ and will provide a range of services for clients and their families in Warrnambool and the Great South Coast. The problem is evident and quite simply something needs to happen in our community right now.

Specialist alcohol and other drug treatment is effective and brings substantial savings to society. While Warrnambool and the Great South Coast have a range of outpatient services, in addition to hospital-based detoxification, there is little or no access to the most intensive treatment type, namely residential rehabilitation. As noted by key stakeholders from the Great South Coast in recent consultations ‘residential rehabilitation doesn’t exist’, ‘it is the major gap in the system’.
Membership of WRAD Health, a community-based health service that offers bulk-billing medical practice and AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) treatment, provides members with benefit of access to our Annual Report and Newsletters. In addition, membership shows a token of support to the work that WRAD Health does in the community to address needs of those with complex health issues including mental health and substance use. The annual subscription is $5.50 and is payable in advance on or before 1 July in each year.

AGM Reports
Access to our Annual Reports allowing members to stay informed about the organisation's achievements, financial status, and future plans.
Community Support
The membership provides opportunities to be part of a network of local community members and healthcare professionals, community leaders, and like-minded individuals demonstrating support for the work that WRAD Health provides.
Being a member also offers opportunity to vote if required at special meetings convened by the Committee of Management of WRAD Health incorporated. Membership does come with responsibility and it’s within the constitution that membership can be suspended or if there are significant concerns a member can be expelled.
